Who else has been playing Neko Atsume like there's no tomorrow? Now that you've collected a bunch of cats in the game, how about collecting them in cross-stitch?
I've seen some patterns available for sale online, but very few for free. And we all like free stuff, right? ((Plus, Neko Atsume is copyrighted and people should not be selling it. Please don't support copyright violation!)) Here's the deal: I've designed cross-stitch patterns for all 34 regular Neko Atsume cats, five adorable poses each. (Standing, sitting, turkey (arms tucked in), cat loaf, and the ever-popular cat butt.) They're in PDF format, so just download and get stitching!
The pattern includes basic cross-stitch instructions, supply list, and cross-stitch charts with both color coding and symbols. Perfect for beginners and experts alike. Patterns are up-to-date as of June 2016, and I will add new cats as they are released. Rare cats and alternate poses coming in a future update! ((If you have any requests, share them in the comment section!))
All of the patterns make a finished project under 2.5 inches wide. You can change up the size by using smaller or larger-count aida. Here's Misty, in a cute 3" embroidery hoop. I stitched her on 18-count aida with two strands of floss per color.

Hi! I love these patterns, thank you for making them free for all. With the recent update I would be super excited if you created a pasty pattern, and might even faint with joy if you created patterns for the “face plant” pose ?. Audrey xxx
Thanks, Audrey! I’m working on it! 🙂 Aiming to add the new cats along with the rare cats very soon.
Oh wow! I’ve been hunting for something new to do! Thank you so much for sharing
I have a special request please! How do I get in contact with you to show you a picture. Thanks!
AMAZING patterns! Any plans to do the rare cats anytime soon?
Aww, thank you! Rare cats are in progress! I’m aiming to release them in one large batch.

YOU ARE GREAT. So nice. I appreciate it very much. Thank you for sharing this for free.♡
Love these, but I was wondering if you wouldn’t happen to have a pattern for White Shadow or Ms. Fortune would you – those are my bf’s faves and I cannot find a pattern for them anywhere.
I hope you do Whiteshadow. That may be the only time I get to see that elusive little critter 😉
Well, I heard Whiteshadow like bonita bitz if u wanna try that! good luck on catching him!
I’m thrilled to find these! Thank you so much for making them available!
My favorite rare cats are Joe DiMeowgio and the Maneki Neko. I’m looking forward to seeing them in the next litter – er, batch.
Could you chart the Japanese and English logos, too?
I super love these! Thank you for sharing it for free <3 So excited to try these!
Despite your copyright, Etsy members are selling these patterns, as well as other Neko Atsume charts.
I’m sure other sites sell them as well. Do you ever prosecute these people?
Thanks for the heads up! I keep a close eye on other Neko Atsume cross stitch patterns for this reason. None of the patterns currently listed are copies of my patterns– they were designed separately from mine.
However, the people selling those patterns are absolutely violating copyright law by profiting from the Neko Atsume game without permission of the game designer, Hit-Point Co.,Ltd.
Do you mean the characters themselves can be used and sold by anyone? Aren’t the characters copyrighted? If not, what is?
No, any work using Neko Atsume characters cannot be sold without permission from Hit-Point Co.,Ltd, the maker of Neko Atsume. They are copyrighted by Hit-Point Co.,Ltd. Every Neko Atsume pattern for sale on Etsy is in violation of copyright law.
My patterns are provided for free and are explicitly for personal use only, as stated above. The patterns may not be sold, and anything made with the pattern can’t be sold either. I converted them myself by hand–one pixel at a time–from Neko Atsume character art. These specific patterns are not available on Etsy or anywhere else. However, if Hit-Point Co.,Ltd wanted me to remove these free patterns from my website, I would absolutely comply.
Has anyone prosecuted those who are selling them? For instance, this is one example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/265761364/all-38-neko-atsume-cross-stitch-patterns?ref=shop_home_feat_2
Based on the fact that the Etsy listing is still up, I would guess that Hit Point Co. has not prosecuted that seller yet.
I’d love to see the pattern for Ms. Fortune- she’s my favourite! Looking forward to seeing all the rare cats come out. The rest of these are wonderful and I’m definitely going to be making a bunch of them
Very cute ! Thanks for sharing ! <3
Half way making tubs, looks so good. Would love to see Jeeves and sapphire too. Thanks again !!!!
These are adorable! As for selling, like some people asked, some companies will take action against their own copyright/trademark, and some won’t. You never know when a company will take action so I would not sell online. I know a lot of companies will allow selling for charity and/or selling for your cost only (meaning no profit being made) You can always ask.
woah! these are so much better than the other patterns i have found online! i cant wait to stitch! but, i notice there are 10 missing cats! i am planning to make a mural of all the common, semi rare and rare cats. are the 10 missing cats gonna come out anytime soon? dont wanna trouble you though. also, a while back, i took a pattern of snowball (because she is a perfect base) and made the pattern look like my cat, Stella! she turned out adorable! im getting Instagram soon, when i do get it,i will absolute follow you! have a good day!
